John has served his clients as an organization development consultant, program manager, curriculum designer, facilitator, and executive coach since 2001. As a nationally known consultant and facilitator, John is continuously honing his ability to engage learners, increase their competence at mission execution and create sustainable results. John strives for opportunities to work with executives, taking what he learns from each engagement and applying it to the next— effectively creating a more results-focused and mission-driven impact.

Throughout his career, John has designed and facilitated numerous courses that have built stronger leaders, created sustainable culture change and empowered teams. His most recent experience has included contract work with SAIC delivering leadership training to the Department of Defense and to the United States Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Western Management Development Center (WMDC), where he co-designed more than a dozen courses and served as an executive coach from 2001 to 2014. He has served as a visiting program manager leading multi-year, multi-million dollar custom organization development projects for several government agencies including Department of Justice, Department of the Treasury (US Mint and Internal Revenue Service), Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Defense, and the Defense Contract Management Agency. Additionally, he has co-designed and facilitated custom courses for the US Army, Social Security Administration, Food Safety and Inspection Services, US Customs and Immigration Services, Department of Justice, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Transportation, and the Pacific Leadership Academy.

Supplementing his consulting within the public sector, John has delivered career transition coaching services through McKenzie Scott in Denver, CO. As an adjunct faculty member at the Center for Creative Leadership John provided executive coaching and small group facilitation for numerous clients in 2006-2007. His private sector clients have included: Qwest, AT&T, Charles Schwab & Company, The Home Depot, Frito-Lay, and Proctor & Gamble.

John spent the first thirteen years of his career in progressively responsible leadership positions in the healthcare and human services sectors in both nonprofit and profit organizations. He has held executive positions with P&L accountability for over $1.5M and a span of control over geographically dispersed operations with over 120 staff. John’s success as a leader has armed him with real-world business experience that keeps him focused on organizational development interventions that are results-oriented, mission-critical and fully engaging.

 John has earned a Ph.D. in psychology and an M..B.A. with a management concentration from California Coast University, an M.S. in counseling from California State University at Fullerton and a BS in Christian Education from Biola University. Additionally, he is a Board-Certified Coach in Executive/Corporate/Business/Leadership Coaching, Career Coaching, Life Coaching, and Wellness Coaching (Center for Credentialing & Education), MCC (Master Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation), Newfield Certified Coach (Newfield Network, Ontological Coaching),  a certified paralegal (ABA approved Denver Paralegal Institute), and a certified mediator from The Center for Solutions.. He is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (CA), National Certified Counselor and Certified Addictions Specialist.
